With an open heart and curious mind, join us in exploring death, a profound transition that we will all encounter. Together, we will explore how moving beyond resistance and fear can reveal the paradoxical wisdom of death, supporting us in living more fully and preparing us to embrace our own mortality. This retreat includes intimate conversation, journaling, contemplative practices, film, role playing, and movement.

Ryan Redman is a perennial wanderer, teacher, creator, and lover of the living world. Raised in Idaho’s Wood River Valley, he found peace, freedom, and belonging among mountain trails and aspen groves. Inspired by his father, Ryan began exploring consciousness as a teenager. While studying at the University of California, Santa Barbara, he traveled through Asia seeking mystery, inner fulfillment, and remote surf breaks. He later spent three years in India studying Sanskrit, meditation, and contemplative traditions.
Those experiences awakened a passion for the relationship between inner transformation and personal, social, and planetary well being. While earning a master’s degree in Contemplative Education, Ryan cofounded the Flourish Foundation in 2011. As Executive Director, he builds community, envisions a life enhancing culture, and guides curriculum, teaching, and philanthropy.
These days, Ryan may be found enjoying cacao in a meadow with his wife, drumming beneath the moon, or adventuring with his sons.
From a meant-to-be-forever career in banking to then working with several local non profits, Becquel found her soul’s calling by volunteering as a community grief tender for several years with Flourish. Following extensive training by Francis Weller, author of Wild Edge of Sorrow and soul activist, she began the deep soul work of apprenticing to sorrow and has been working to share this gift with her community ever since.
Following a childhood that involved calling more than eight states home, Becquel moved to Missoula, Montana, studied Business Administration at the University of Montana before moving to Hailey, Idaho in 2003 finding with no surprise at all that she had ended up right where she was meant to be all along.
She may be found most days moving at the speed of love, avoiding small talk, sitting at the river, talking to the trees, and spending time with her loved ones.

Over three days we will use guided meditations, writing practices, group discussions, and imaginal practices to help participants create familiarity and remove fear around the discussion of and work with death.
How much does it cost?
While many of Flourish’s programs are offered freely to participants thanks to generous donors, some offerings use a tiered-based price model.
