from the inside out
Flourish is possible because of its people. Every ripple from our quiet beginnings came from the care and presence of our generous team. We are deeply grateful for the gifts they’ve shared.
Meet the leadership, facilitators and board members who cultivate what Flourish can be.

Ryan Redman
Compassionate Visionary
ryan@flourishfoundation.orgRyan Redman
Compassionate Visionary
Ryan Redman is a perennial wanderer, teacher, creator, and lover of the living world. Raised in Idaho’s Wood River Valley, he found peace, freedom, and belonging among mountain trails and aspen groves. Inspired by his father, Ryan began exploring consciousness as a teenager. While studying at the University of California, Santa Barbara, he traveled through Asia seeking mystery, inner fulfillment, and remote surf breaks. He later spent three years in India studying Sanskrit, meditation, and contemplative traditions.
Those experiences awakened a passion for the relationship between inner transformation and personal, social, and planetary well being. While earning a master’s degree in Contemplative Education, Ryan cofounded the Flourish Foundation in 2011. As Executive Director, he builds community, envisions a life enhancing culture, and guides curriculum, teaching, and philanthropy.
These days, Ryan may be found enjoying cacao in a meadow with his wife, drumming beneath the moon, or adventuring with his sons.

Paige Redman
Heartbeat of Operations
paige@flourishfoundation.orgPaige Redman
Heartbeat of Operations
Paige always felt a yearning to live closer to the earth and deeper into meaning. That carried her from Los Angeles through her studies at UC Santa Barbara to two years in India, awakening her spirituality and pointing her toward a truer calling.
She returned home, became a birth doula and mindful birth educator, walking couples through the sacred threshold of childbearing. That devotion led her into the classroom, where she shares the Mindful Awareness Program with hundreds of children. In addition to teaching, Paige tends daily operations, coordinates educational programming, and nurtures a culture of truth telling, vulnerability, and delicious snacks.
Her days are inspired by motherhood, a deepening love affair with the earth, and the quiet wisdom of the more than human world. Paige can be found hiking in the mountains, sipping cacao in a meadow with her husband, sitting in circles of transformation, and loving her two boys, always, in all ways.

Becquel Smith
Joyful Grief Tender
becquel@flourishfoundation.orgBecquel Smith
Joyful Grief Tender
From a meant-to-be-forever career in banking to then working with several local non profits, Becquel found her soul’s calling by volunteering as a community grief tender for several years with Flourish. Following extensive training by Francis Weller, author of Wild Edge of Sorrow and soul activist, she began the deep soul work of apprenticing to sorrow and has been working to share this gift with her community ever since.
Following a childhood that involved calling more than eight states home, Becquel moved to Missoula, Montana, studied Business Administration at the University of Montana before moving to Hailey, Idaho in 2003 finding with no surprise at all that she had ended up right where she was meant to be all along.
She may be found most days moving at the speed of love, avoiding small talk, sitting at the river, talking to the trees, and spending time with her loved ones.

erin@flourishfoundation.orgErin Kesselman
Spirited Systems Steward
Erin has served as an ensemble improviser, middle school teacher, school administrator, integral leadership coach, and wilderness rites of passage guide for youth coming of age. Along the way she earned an M.Ed. in Curriculum & Instruction, studied permaculture, and became a mother.
At Flourish, this unique constellation of experiences allows her to meaningfully contribute across every layer—from designing sustainable operational systems and creatively engaging our community, to walking alongside people of all ages navigating life’s passageways as we reveal our potential for a wise, joyful, and compassionate life.
Erin is grateful to serve this community that nurtured her early sense of belonging and wild imagination. She brings a spirit of wonder into her daily rhythm—reading poetry at sunrise, marveling at nature, and filling her family’s home with freshly baked treats!

Emily Freudenberger
Awe Farmer
emily@flourishfoundation.orgEmily Freudenberger
Awe Farmer
Emily was fortunate to spend her childhood playing in the wilderness of Flathead Valley, Montana. She is a student of ravens, vast watersheds, and glacial fields.
After several years pursuing her curiosity, Emily returned to school to study Therapeutic Recreation and Place-Based Healing at Western Washington University. Her studies blossomed at the confluence of somatics, recreation, ethno-ecology, and community care. She has worked in therapeutic recreation, teaching yoga, and as a backcountry ski, climb, backpack, and river guide for people of all ages and abilities.
Emily finds her joy in building relationships with the land and its inhabitants. Today, you might find her playing music with her friends, putting her new binoculars to use, or laughing her way down a river or powder field. She adores working with youth across many Flourish programs including the Compassionate Leaders, Discovery, and Mindful Awareness, and believes wholeheartedly in the power of authentic connection to transform our world.

Neil Crowson
Facilitator of Belonging
neil@flourishfoundation.orgNeil Crowson
Facilitator of Belonging
Guided by love, joy, and awe, Neil Crowson believes the ordinary moments of everyday life are where life's greatest beauty, meaning, and connection are found.
Raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, Neil learned ethical integrity from his father, the importance of belonging from his mother, and the discipline of returning to practice from his sister. His career has followed a winding path, from the outdoor industry to community and health work, before returning to school in his late twenties. He earned a degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Doctor of Occupational Therapy from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.
Neil finds beauty in the everyday: the way someone holds a utensil, takes a step, or forms a sentence. He believes these ordinary acts reveal resilience, purpose, and possibility. Through his work and relationships, Neil seeks to help others feel seen, valued, and connected, honoring the dignity and humanity that emerge in life's simplest moments.

Ian has been in the Wood River Valley since the early part of the century and has worked in investment management since the run-up to the Great Recession. A late bloomer in general, he learned of Flourish in the mid-2010s and continues to be awed by the mindfulness of others while serving on the Flourish Board. I am an Aspen, because I love the shared connections. What aspect of Flourish's ecosystem is closest to your heart?
Flourish's ecosystem feels like the most important operating system upgrade one can do in a world where rapid interconnection and the exponential growth of content are the norm. I struggle to think of a societal ill where the first step in addressing the issue isn't mindfulness. -

After spending my first decade after college in teaching and curriculum development, I saw firsthand how early messages of human values shape our youth—the very pillars of our society. That realization sparked a lifelong commitment to supporting community initiatives grounded in those core principles. Flourish sits at the heart of this focus. I am honored to support its mission of instilling enduring values in the next generation.
Which tree best represents your approach to board leadership?
I am an Aspen, because I am connected to my community like the roots of an Aspen Grove. What aspect of Flourish's ecosystem is closest to your heart?
I admire the way Flourish has shown wisdom in identifying and providing for other needs of our community beyond its original efforts in our schools. This "open awareness" of Flourish is valuable to me and close to my heart! -

Born and raised in Sun Valley, Idaho, I’ve always believed that the mountains have a way of teaching life’s greatest lessons—presence, grit, humility, and wonder. After spending time exploring the world, I returned home & was lucky enough to start working for the Flourish Foundation while also raising four children, who are now living the Idaho dream surrounded by the same wild places that shaped me.
My greatest passion is helping children develop lifelong skills that build confidence, emotional resilience, and self-compassion. Because when we learn to be kinder to ourselves, kindness naturally extends to others—and that’s how we begin creating a more compassionate world, one child at a time

As a former English teacher and new to the area, I missed working with young people. The younger generation has so much to offer through a fresh perspective, innocent awareness, a curious energy and hope. That, plus the Flourish emphasis on mindfulness, love, and connection, called me back to the heart of the classroom.
