Mindfulness Based Childbirth & Parenting

The Mindfulness-Based Childbirth and Parenting (MBCP) Program helps expectant couples cultivate lifelong resources for parenting with awareness, kindness, and connection. Recommended for first-time parents in early pregnancy—or anyone during subsequent pregnancies—this course guides participants into deep physical and mental relaxation. By exploring the mind-body physiology of childbirth, couples learn to engage the mind to work with pain, building confidence and courage for labor. Beyond birth, the program enhances communication between partners and delivers practical tools for managing the daily stresses of pregnancy, parenting, and everyday life.

FAQs

What if I cannot make all the classes?

No problem, this class builds week by week and life happens! Still plan to come to as many as you can.

What if my partner cannot join some or all of the classes?

While this is very much a partner class, you will still get a lot out of it if you have to come alone. You can always bring a family member or caring friend to support you if needed.

What do participant's have to say about their experience?

"Perhaps most importantly, the course opened up conversations between us that strengthened our relationship and helped us clarify our values and intentions for birth and early parenting. We feel more aligned, more confident, and more prepared to support each other through this transition."

"Since taking the course, both my husband and I have noticed meaningful shifts in how we think about pregnancy, childbirth, and parenting. We feel far more grounded and less fearful about birth, with a better understanding of the physiological, emotional, and mental processes involved."

"Overall, we feel more resilient, more present, and better equipped to handle life’s “contractions” with calm and connection."

How much does it cost?

While many of Flourish’s programs are offered freely to participants thanks to generous donors, some offerings use a tiered-based price model. Our aspiration is to ensure that all who wish to participate are able to and that we can continue to run a vital, sustainable organization to serve this community for a long time!

Please reflect on both the value you will personally receive from this experience and your current financial reality to support how much you decide to give.
